Temporary Pause in Tip Acceptance

October 29, 2026

On October 26, 2026, the Campbell River Crime Stoppers volunteer Board of Directors passed a motion to temporarily suspend the acceptance and processing of tips following the recent Navigate360 cybersecurity breach. The severity of the breach became apparent on October 21, 2026 and the Campbell River Crime Stoppers Board met within a week and chose to suspend the acceptance and processing of tips using the Navigate360 software. Tip intake was suspended effective October 27, 2026.

The Campbell River Crime Stoppers Board is calling for independent, third-party verification that Navigate360's platform is secure before considering resuming operations.

Crime Stoppers has long played a valuable role in helping prevent and solve crime by giving members of the public a way to share information anonymously. We remain committed to protecting tipster anonymity and recognize that public trust is fundamental to the program's work. Our decision to suspend tip intake reflects that commitment.

Members of the public who wish to report information about a crime are encouraged to contact Campbell River RCMP directly through its non-emergency reporting channels. Anyone reporting an emergency or a situation requiring immediate police assistance should call 911.

We appreciate the continued support of our community and law enforcement partners and will provide further updates as information becomes available.
